Living Hope — What We Believe

As Christians who uphold the teachings of Martin Luther, a 16th century church reformer, we at Living Hope along with the Lutheran Church believe that a relationship with God the Father is made possible through the gift of faith in Jesus Christ, God's only son.

Through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have obtained the free gift of grace, forgiveness and redemption from our sins. This gift makes a daily, joyful and uplifting relationship with God, our Creator a beautiful reality.

We believe that all people are invited into this dynamic daily relationship. We can enter into this relationship at Baptism, as we participate in worship and Holy Communion, and as we fellowship with other members of the body of Christ. Life in Christ comes from the Holy Spirit, the indwelling presence of Jesus Christ who lives in our hearts and minds and in the acts of service we perform for others on his behalf.

We believe that salvation and eternal life come through faith in Jesus Christ, that life is constantly being renewed by the work of the Holy Spirit, and that we have been created for a relationship with God and with one another.

Life in grace is also a life lived outwardly as disciples of Jesus. Discipleship involves worship, study, fellowship, service, generosity and witness. The mission of Living Hope is to help reach out into our community and enable people to grow in a life of faith and service.

We believe that people are important. We value people and their unique gifts. Children and family life are important components of a shared faith life as well. It is our deepest desire that you will find Living Hope a warm and welcoming place to be, a place where you can worship, grow in faith, grow in acts of service and discover the loving grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ God's son.
