Yadah Yadah Puppet Ministry

The name of Living Hope Lutheran Church's puppet team came from the Hebrew verb Yadah which means to worship with extended hand, perfect for a puppet ministry. Our ministry verse is from Psalm 63:4: I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.

Prior to the formation of the team, several members of Living Hope Lutheran Church attended a One-Way Street training festival in February 2008. We were able to take classes, watch other churches perform and purchase puppets with grant funds and donations. This festival was a great way to connect with other churches and learn from how they did things in their puppet ministry. It was an awesome jumpstart to our ministry.

The team participated in One Way Street's Puppet Ministry Festival in Tinley Park. On February 27, 2009 the team entered its first Puppet Ministry Competition. Puppeteers Megan & Mark Fitzgerald, Miranda Joebgen, Jacob & Grace Pieczynski and Ryan Olson along with directors Chris & Ed Olson performed the song Noah from Bullfrogs & Butterflies. Yadah Yadah Puppet Team received a Bronze Award and the Outstanding Originality Award for their puppet performance. The team also participated in the puppetry festival's workshops in ballooning, ventriloquism, choreography and technical seminars. Megan Fitzgerald participated in the puppet lip sync competition and placed 4th.

MAY 2010 – – Kris and Alicia would like to thank the Living Hope Puppet Team for all of their hard work this year!! In addition to performing at more than six services, the puppet team went on the road TWICE!! The most recent traveling event was to Redeemer Lutheran Church in South Holland (Jake and Gracie’s GrandparentsŠ church). There they performed a half hour show for over 100 people!! The event was so well received that it truly knocked our socks off.

In order to honor our puppet team we invite all team members to a PIZZA PARTY on June 10th at church from 12:30 to 2:00. Please let Kris or Alicia know if you plan to attend!!!

Interested in being a part of the team?
The puppet team will break from regular rehearsals for the summer but will instead host some workshops for learning new skills and encouraging new membership to the team. All are welcome to the puppet team -- young and old alike. All that is necessary is that you can concentrate for a 90 minute rehearsal, follow directions, and wish to spread Gods word through hands raised in praise!! Our first workshop will be June 28th from 1-4pm. Please join us and see why we have soooo much fun!!!!

If you are interested in donating to the team, please contact Alicia Joebgen or call the office at 815-464-0101.

Come join in the show!
